Rhododendrons are native to the lower parts of the Himalayas. They are evergreen shrubs which grow particularly well shade or semi shade in the more temperate areas of Australia. There are a myriad of varieties available, some of which we have in our garden and these are the ones we propagate off. They range in size from approximately one metre up to 3 metres, depending on variety. They flower in late spring and are especially spectacular at this time, however their foliage makes them an attraction pretty much all year round. Excellent under trees, on the eastern or sheltered southern side of houses or sheds or will grow well in a pot or tub. Cold hardy.
