This colourful rock rose produces grey-green downy foliage. Cistus are native to the countries that ring the Mediterranean. They are tough plants that flower freely over spring and summer and will tolerate extended dry periods. The flowers have showy light rose pink petals flowers in spring and summer, that are like ruffled crepe and usually fall within a few hours of opening forming an attractive carpet on the ground beneath. Excellent addition to any rockery or cottage garden setting. Fertilise regularly and prune lightly after flowering to promote compact growth. Tolerates moderate frost and coastal conditions.
