Cherries are a very adaptable fruit tree for all temperate and cool areas in Australia. These trees are grown on Mazzard-F12, an aggresive and disease resistant root stock which will produce a tree approx 5m X 5m unpruned. We keep our trees around 4m with annual pruning. Maturity and fruit varies depending on varieties. Most varieties are self fertile. Cold and dry hardy. Responds to regular watering and good fertiliser and compost regime. Annual copper spray will help to deter diseases such as bacterial canker.
